Summer Learning and Reading 2024
Adventure Begins at Your Library at BML for the 2024 Summer Reading and Learning program, which officially begins on Friday, June 28. That morning from 10am-11:30am, you can join us for our annual kickoff event at the pavilion behind the town pool, weather permitting. If the weather does not cooperate, the event will be held inside the Friends of BML Learning Center. Can't make it to our kickoff event? Any time after 11 AM June 28 you can stop by the library to register.
How it Works
Children from birth through pre-school can be registered by a parent or caregiver for a Baby Bee Summer Learning Game containing activities for child and caregiver to complete together. Each complete flower on the gameboard earns a prize. Complete every flower and earn a board book!
Students entering grades preK–12 can register for an Adventure Begins at Your Library Summer Reading and Learning Passport where they can:

Choose a daily reading goal (20, 30, 45+ minutes) and then mark off a "read" spot on the passport when the goal is met or exceeded.

Mark off spots for any completed activities selected from the included list.

Complete the gameboard by August 15.
For each completed page of the passport, see the librarian at the Children's Information Desk for a prize and a raffle ticket. Finish the board to earn a book!
Adults, you can participate, too! For each book read this summer or act of community service completed, stop in to fill out a raffle ticket to win prizes to area restaurants and businesses!
